Omschrijving onderdeel 5: TUINMUUR en TRAPPEN.
De bakstenen tuinmuur, in aanleg XVIII, veranderd in XXb, omgeeft de ruimte tussen het hoofdgebouw en het dienstgebouw; de muur is ruim 2 m. hoog en gedekt door een ezelsrug, die boogvormig meeloopt met de halfronde bovenkant van de twee smalle tuinpoortjes in de muur; het ene poortje geeft toegang tot het verhoogde terras achter het huis, het andere tot het omgaande zandpad in de tuin; onder de ezelsrug een getande rand van uitkragende bakstenen. In de lange taluds van de twee vijvers liggen bakstenen trapjes van vijf treden, XXb, vier stuks in totaal; een dergelijk trapje met zes treden ligt naast de tuinmuur en daalt af naar de gracht; aan het eind van de centrale as ligt een natuurstenen trapje van drie treden, XIX; vier bakstenen trapjes in de rozentuin, waarvan twee in de as; en tenslotte één bakstenen trapje in de keermuur van het terras, ook in de as.

Description of component 5: GARDEN WALL and STAIRS.
The brick garden wall, in layout 18th century, altered in 20th century, encloses the space between the main building and the service building; the wall is just over 2 m. high and capped by a saddle back, which arches along with the semi-circular top of the two narrow garden doorways in the wall; one doorway gives access to the raised terrace behind the house, the other to the surrounding sand path in the garden; under the saddle back a dentilled edge of projecting bricks. In the long slopes of the two pools lie brick staircases of five steps, 20th century, four in total; such a staircase with six steps lies next to the garden wall and descends to the moat; at the end of the central axis lies a natural stone staircase of three steps, 19th century; four brick staircases in the rose garden, two of which in the axis; and finally one brick staircase in the retaining wall of the terrace, also in the axis.
