Inleiding
Het GRAFMONUMENT met engel en "stammenkruis" bevindt zich op de begraafplaats behorende bij het rooms-katholieke kerkelijke complex St. Vitus te Blauwhuis (gewijd 1872). Het grafmonument staat aan de noordzijde van het terrein, tussen de Calvarieberg en het Pietà-grafmonument in en is naar het oosten gericht. De inscriptie op de ovalen marmeren plaat luidt: "RUSTPLAATS van den heer SYBERCH Y. YDEMA geb. te Workum 14 dec. 1841 overl. te Sneek 11 sept. 1917 en echtgenoote CORNELIA K.L.WITTEVEEN geb. te Oosterend 16 april 1846 overl. te Sneek 25 aug 1909..".
Omschrijving
Het natuurstenen basement staat binnen een vierkante natuurstenen omtrek. Op het hoge vierkante basement staat een marmeren kruis dat ondersteund wordt door een engel. Het basement bestaat uit een driedelige voet waarop een kubus met ovalen staat. Op het marmeren ovaal aan de oostzijde is de inscriptie met metalen letters aangebracht. De profielen van de basementonderdelen en de overige ovalen zijn zwart geschilderd. Op de kubus staat een plateau met kartellijst en enige stenen waarop het kruis en de engel staan. Het kruis bestaat uit een vrij grote met takken, bladeren en bloemen omwonden stam. Op de 'barokke' kruisarmen staat geschreven: RUST IN VREDE. De engel omarmt het kruis met zijn linkerarm en wijst met zijn rechterarm en wijsvinger omhoog.

The GRAVE MONUMENT with angel and "family cross" is located on the cemetery belonging to the Roman Catholic church complex St. Vitus at Blauwhuis (consecrated 1872). Description
The natural stone base stands within a square natural stone surround. On the high square base stands a marble cross supported by an angel.
