Inleiding
Het object werd in 1927 gebouwd als uitbreiding van het KETELHUIS in opdracht van P.F. van Vlissingen. Het gebouw grenst aan het ketelhuis uit 1913. In 1937 werd het uitgebreid. Heden dient het pand als energiebedrijf.
Omschrijving
Het L-vormige gebouw heeft een opklimmende reeks van twee naar drie tot vier bouwlagen. De gevels zijn opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen met sier- en tandlijsten onder de rand van de platte daken. De gevels worden geleed door lisenen met accenten van rollagen en ander eenvoudig siermetselwerk. De interne constructie bestaat uit een betonskelet. Het tweelaagse deel heeft op de begane grond gekoppelde rondboogramen met natuursteen aanzetstenen. De overige vensters zijn brede zesruits stalen met kunststeen lateien. In het drielaagse gedeelte bevinden zich een reeks stalen deuren.
Waardering
De uitbreiding van het ketelhuis van 1927 en 1937 is van algemeen belang.
