Omschrijving
STADSPARK, genaamd Wilhelminapark. Het park wordt aan de noordwest- en zuidoostzijde begrensd door twee lanen met de naam Wilhelminapark, aan de zuidwestzijde door de Oranjelaan en aan de noordoostzijde door de Gen. Van Heutszlaan. De noordwestelijke laan zou aanvankelijk Marialaan heten. Het is aangelegd in de destijds populaire Engelse landschapsstijl met een langgerekte gebogen vijverpartij met een rustiek houten bruggetje, lange gebogen paden en uitgestrekte grasvelden. De bomen, nu van een monumentale grootte, staan vrij of in kleine groepjes. Sommige bomen zijn minder algemeen voorkomende soorten als rode paardekastanje, suikeresdoorn, moerascypres, prieelberk, bruine beuk, etc. Verder bevat het park enige rodondendrons. De vijverpartij is een oude waterpartij uit de periode vóór circa 1875.
Rond één van de beuken in het noordelijke deel van het park bevindt zich een sierlijk smeedijzeren HEKWERK in Art Nouveau-stijl, met gestileerde bloemmotieven.

De Parken behoort tot de grootste en oudste villawijken van dit type in ons land en de aanleg droeg er toe bij dat het aanzien van het dorp en de sociale gelaagdheid van haar bevolking sterk veranderde.

CITY PARK, named Wilhelminapark. The park is bounded on the north-west and south-east sides by two lanes named Wilhelminapark, on the south-west side by the Oranjelaan and on the north-east side by the Gen. Van Heutszlaan.
