Building block A contains four adjoining TOWNHOUSES with rendered facades, executed in eclectic style. The block is located in the inner bend of the Maliesingel directly opposite the Herenbrug.

The left corner house (Maliesingel 18) is partially detached from the row of houses by a shallow fire passage. It also distinguishes itself by being lower (two instead of three storeys) and, in contrast to the other houses which have a rectangular plan, it is laid out on a more irregular ground plan.

The front facade contains a five-sided extension over two storeys on the right, adjacent to two bays of facade section.
