In 1939 naar ontwerp van architect Feberwee gebouwd WOONWINKELPAND in een aan de Nieuwe Haagse School verwante stijl waarin expressionistische tendenzen.
Omschrijving
Als flatgebouw gekenmerkt woonwinkelpand, op rechthoekige plattegrond met vijf bouwlagen, waarbij de terugliggende vijfde bouwlaag een balkon vormt, en plat dak met breed houten overstek.
Het geheel in beton en gele baksteen opgetrokken pand is vijf traveeën breed met aan beide zijden nog een halve travee; de middelste travee is uitgevoerd met balkons, de halve traveëen met kleine inpandige balkons. Begane grond met geglazuurde baksteen-plint en grote rechthoekige winkelpuien, de middelste travee met inpandige ingang, in oorsprong tevens een ingang in de halve travee ter rechterzijde. Alle vensters zijn stalen vensters, met op de eerste bouwlaag, in de linker travee tevens een om de hoek omgezette vensterkast. Alle vensters onder een dunne betonnen lijst, boven de vensters in de halve traveëen een betonnen luifel. Zowel de balkons, als de terugliggende vijfde bouwlaag hebben een ijzeren hekwerk met opvallend slanke spijlen, op de vijfde bouwlaag uitgebogen met decoratieve ondersteunende elementen.
Boven het brede dakoverstek twee dakkapellen met breed overstek. Achtergevel met uitgebouwde lift met glazen liftkoker.
Waardering
Woonwinkelpand van algemeen belang vanwege architectuurhistorische waarde als karakteristiek voorbeeld van een van de Nieuwe Haagse School afgeleide bouwstijl met expressionistische kenmerken.

Characterised as a flat building, residential shop building, on rectangular floor plan with five storeys, whereby the recessed fifth storey forms a balcony, and flat roof with broad wooden overhang.
The entire building executed in concrete and yellow brick is five bays wide with a half bay on both sides; the middle bay is executed with balconies, the half bays with small integral balconies. Ground floor with glazed brick plinth and large rectangular shop fronts, the middle bay with integral entrance, originally also an entrance in the half bay on the right side. All windows are steel windows, with on the first storey, in the left bay likewise a window frame turned around the corner. All windows under a thin concrete moulding, above the windows in the half bays a concrete canopy. Both the balconies and the recessed fifth storey have ironwork railing with strikingly slender balusters, on the fifth storey curved outwards with decorative supporting elements.
Above the broad roof overhang two roof dormers with broad overhang. Rear facade with extended lift with glass lift shaft.
