In eclectische trant uitgevoerd GRAFMONUMENT (vak 5, grafnr 2a), blijkens inscriptie ter nagedachtenis van vice-admiraal J.C. Koopman en het beleg van Antwerpen in 1830-32, bestaande uit een hardstenen tombe en een eveneens in hardsteen uitgevoerd, drieledig gedenkteken met ondermeer een gebeeldhouwde sokkel, vierkante attributen van Koopmans beroep en aan weerszijden twee met eierlijsten versierde cirkels waarin gebeeldhouwde ringen en voluten; de aan vier zijden licht uitkragende, keperboogvormige bekroning heeft aan de stadszijde een wapenschild met leeuwekop, waarboven een vijfpuntige ster.
Tekst op de voorkant: de wapenspreuk "Faire sans dire". Voorts :" Vice admiraal J.C. Koopman/ geboren den 21 maart 1790/ overleden den 21 april 1855".
Tekst op zijkanten: "Antwerpen 1830-1832 / Palembang 1821" Tekst op achterzijde: "Hulde aan mijnen echtgenoot/ aan onzen vader,/ aan onzen vriend". Signatuur op het monument: L.H. Eberson, Architect 18.. P.J. de Vitesse sculp.
Tot het grafmonument behoort het aan drie zijden omringende hekwerk met door kettingen verbonden gietijzeren balusters waarin het omgekeerde toorts-motief is verwerkt.
Waardering
19e-eeuws grafmonument met bijbehorende omheining en symboliek van algemeen belang vanwege de kunsthistorische waarde als karakteristiek voorbeeld van grafkunst en vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde vanwege de verbondenheid met vice-generaal Koopman en de Belgische Opstand. Tevens vanwege de funerair-historische waarde als onderdeel van de begraafplaats 'Soestbergen'.

GRAVE MONUMENT (bay 5, grave no. 2a) executed in eclectic style, according to the inscription in memory of vice-admiral J.C. Koopman and the siege of Antwerpen in 1830-32, consisting of a sandstone tomb and a three-part memorial also executed in sandstone with, among other things, a sculptured base, square attributes of Koopman's profession and on both sides two circles decorated with egg mouldings in which are sculptured rings and volutes; the canopy curving slightly outward on all four sides and shaped like a basket arch has a heraldic shield with a lion's head on the side facing the city, above which is a five-pointed star.
Text on the front: the coat of arms motto "Faire sans dire". Furthermore: "Vice admiral J.C. Koopman / born 21 March 1790 / died 21 April 1855".
Text on the sides: "Antwerpen 1830-1832 / Palembang 1821" Text on the rear: "Tribute to my husband / to our father, / to our friend". Signature on the monument: L.H. Eberson, Architect 18.. P.J. de Vitesse sculp.
