Naar neoclassicistisch geïnspireerd ontwerp van J.D. Zocher j.r. uit 1830 centraal op de begraafplaats aangelegde ROTONDE of grafheuvel, in drie - deels met gras begroeide - ringen trapsgewijs oplopend rondom een open put op cirkelvormige grondslag. Om en op de rotonde is een omlopend grindpad aangelegd, uitkomend op de bovenste cirkel vanaf de zuidzijde. De rotonde heeft verder van hardstenen afdeklijsten voorziene bakstenen ringmuren, waarin de toegangen tot de - vooral voor de Utrechtse notabelen bestemde - grafkelders zijn opgenomen. De bovenste ring bevat een reeks van liggende hardstenen platen met ijzeren ringen, telkens per twee gekoppeld en licht naar beneden hellend. De middelste ringmuur bevat aan twee zijden genummerde hardstenen grafstèles met tombevormige bekroningen, en de grafkelder voor de regenten van de Oud-Rooms-Katholieke Aalmoezenierskamer en bij nr 38 de grafkelder der Aartsbisschoppelijke geestelijkheid van Utrecht. De buitenste ringmuur bevat getoogde, genummerde grafstèles in hardsteen, deels met inscriptie.

Description
Rotunda or grave mound laid out centrally on the cemetery according to a neoclassically inspired design by J.D. Zocher jr. from 1830, rising in terraces in three rings - partly covered with grass - around an open well on a circular ground plan. Around and on the rotunda a circumferential gravel path has been laid, leading to the upper circle from the south side. The rotunda furthermore has brick ring walls provided with hard stone coping strips, in which the entrances to the - particularly intended for Utrecht notables - grave vaults are incorporated. The upper ring contains a series of lying hard stone slabs with iron rings, each coupled in pairs and sloping slightly downwards. The middle ring wall contains on two sides numbered hard stone grave stelae with tomb-shaped crownings, and the grave vault for the regents of the Old Roman Catholic Alms Chamber and at no. 38 the grave vault of the Archiepiscopal clergy of Utrecht. The outer ring wall contains arched, numbered grave stelae in hard stone, some with inscription.
