Koningsweg - 2e Algemene Begraafplaats - Parkaanleg Complexonderdeel 1
PARKAANLEG van de begraafplaats met centraal een kruisvormige opzet de kwartieren ingevuld door concentrisch aangelegde segmentvormige paden,waarbij de verbindingen worden gevormd door rechte en rondlopende paden. Aan oost- en westzijde verbonden met de centrale opzet een cirkelvormige aanleg met radialen, de gehele aanleg ten noorden en ten zuiden begrensd door lanen over de gehele breedte van de perceel. Op de kruising van de radialen met de lanen aan noord- en zuidzijde, ronde 'pleintjes'. Aan de Koningsweg de royale ingang met daarachter een rond voorplein, van de begraafplaats gescheiden door een fraai smeedijzeren hek op stenen voet, vervolgens de genoemde cirkelvormige aanleg met ten noorden het ontvangstgebouw en ten zuiden de oudste graven. Zichtlijnen vanuit de ingang op het binnenplein en vanuit het ontvangstgebouw op de centrale as. De begroeiing bestaat uit lindebomen rondom de centrale kruisvormige opzet en lagere begroeiing ter scheiding van de diverse sectoren. De - overigens van bescherming uitgesloten - latere uitbreidingen zijn uitgevoerd in eenvoudige, aangepaste stijl.
Waardering
Parkaanleg begraafplaats Kovelswade in classicistische stijl van algemeen belang vanwege de funerair-historische waarde als goed en gaaf bewaard voorbeeld van een vroeg 20ste eeuwse begraafplaats. Van tuin-architectonische waarde als goed voorbeeld van een funktionele en stemmige inrichting van een begraafplaat. De parkaanleg vormt hierbij een wezenlijk onderdeel.
Cultuurhistorische omschrijving
De tweede algemene begraafplaats is aangelegd toen bleek dat de eerste algemene begraafplaats Soestbergen niet verder kon uitbreiden vanwege de bebouwing. De naam Kovelswade is afgeleid van de naam van het gerecht Tolsteeg: Kovelswade.

Koningsweg - 2nd General Cemetery - Park Layout Complex Component 1
PARK LAYOUT of the cemetery with centrally a cruciform arrangement with the quadrants filled by concentrically laid out segment-shaped paths, whereby the connections are formed by straight and curved paths. On the east and west sides connected to the central arrangement a circular layout with radials, the entire layout bounded to the north and south by tree-lined avenues across the full width of the plot. At the intersection of the radials with the avenues on the north and south sides, round 'squares'. At the Koningsweg the grand entrance with behind it a round forecourt, separated from the cemetery by a fine wrought iron fence on stone base, followed by the aforementioned circular layout with to the north the reception building and to the south the oldest graves. Sight lines from the entrance to the inner courtyard and from the reception building onto the central axis. The planting consists of lime trees around the central cruciform arrangement and lower planting to separate the various sectors. The - incidentally excluded from protection - later extensions were carried out in simple, adapted style.
