Omschrijving
BRUG met kademuren, tramwachthuisje en urinoir, gelegen over de stadsbuitengracht, de Twijnstraat verbindend met het Ledig Erf.
Betonnen, met baksteen en natuursteen beklede vaste boogbrug met hoge borstwering voorzien van een buisrailing. Aan de stadszijde grenst deze aan de westzijde aan de toerit van een brug over de oude gracht en aan de oostzijde aan de politiepost. Aan de zijde van Ledige Erf zet de kademuur, die dan in hoogte verspringt, zich in de richting van Krommerijn brug zonder buisrailing voort. In de kademuur opgenomen, evenwijdig aan Ledig Erf, bevindt zich een stenen door een betonplaat afgedekt voormalig tramwachthuisje, waarin een brede bank tussen muurdammen en gesloten rugzijde. Waar de verhoogde kademuur als achterzijde van het tramwachthuisje, zijn eigenlijke hoogte herneemt, krijgt de kademuur in de bovendelen door verspringende muurvlakken een grillig verloop. De golvende uitstulpingen worden door natuurstenen fragmenten ondersteund en benadrukt. Het onderste gedeelte van deze kademuur, die hier is voorzien van een lage kade, bezit siermetselwerk waarin ijzeren ringen voor het aanmeren van boten zijn aangebracht. In de kademuur biedt een uitsparing (uit oogpunt van veiligheid nu met hekwerk dichtgezet) met een verlaagd schutmuurtje, toegang tot het urinoir. BRIDGE with quay walls, tram waiting house and urinal, located over the city outer canal, connecting Twijnstraat with Ledig Erf.
Concrete fixed arch bridge clad with brick and natural stone with high parapet equipped with a tube railing. On the city side it adjoins on the west side the approach to a bridge over the old canal and on the east side the police post. On the Ledig Erf side the quay wall, which then steps up in height, continues in the direction of Krommerijn bridge without tube railing. Incorporated in the quay wall, parallel to Ledig Erf, is a stone former tram waiting house covered with a concrete slab, containing a broad bench between wall piers and closed rear side. Where the raised quay wall as the rear side of the tram waiting house resumes its actual height, the quay wall in its upper parts achieves an irregular course through stepped wall planes. The undulating projections are supported and emphasised by natural stone fragments. The lower part of this quay wall, which here has a low quay, features decorative brickwork in which iron rings for mooring boats are incorporated. The quay wall offers a recess (now closed with a safety fence) with a lowered protective wall providing access to the urinal. This formerly public convenience is accessible from the street via a brick staircase with handrail near Krommerijn bridge.
