Een 17e eeuws huis van twee bouwlagen met een mansardekap.
De noordelijke rooilijn van de Wijde Doelen dateert uit 1543. In dat jaar werd de straat verbreed, wat kan samenhangen met vernieuwingen aan de stadsmuur.
Het huis Wijde Doelen 2A dateert in aanleg ook uit de 16e eeuw. Mogelijk zijn er ook, vooral in de achtermuur, oudere delen aanwezig. In de 17e eeuw is het huis verhoogd. Zowel in de voor- als achtergevel zijn muurankers aanwezig die kunnen samenhangen met de oorspronkelijke muurplaat.
De eiken balklaag met 17e eeuwse sleutelstukken op de verdieping behoorde eens tot een moer- en kinderbalklaag. In de 18e eeuw zijn er tussen de moerbalken nieuwe balken gelegd, ter vervanging van de kinderbinten. De beganegrond- balklaag behoort tot een vroegere opzet. Ook deze balklaag is in de 18e eeuw enkelvoudig geworden.
De achtergevel is een in de 19e eeuw verbouwde 17e eeuwse tuitgevel Deze verandering hangt samen met de verbouwing van het zadeldak tot mansardekap. Description
A 17th-century house of two storeys with a mansard roof.
The northern building line of the Wijde Doelen dates from 1543. In that year the street was widened, which may be connected with renovations to the city wall.
The house Wijde Doelen 2A also dates in layout from the 16th century. Possibly there are also, especially in the rear wall, older parts present. In the 17th century the house was raised. Ornamental wall anchors are present in both the front and rear facades which may be associated with the original wall plate.
The oak beam layer with 17th-century keys on the upper floor once belonged to a principal and secondary beam layer. In the 18th century new beams were laid between the principal beams, to replace the secondary beams. The ground floor beam layer belongs to an earlier structure. This beam layer too became single in the 18th century.
The rear facade is a 17th-century spout gable altered in the 19th century. This change is associated with the conversion of the gabled roof to a mansard roof. The front facade contains on the upper floor the original 17th-century ornamental wall anchors of the racking beam. The window frames in the front facade are, with the exception of the door frame, 18th-century. These, however, were altered in the 19th century.
The building is of building-historical importance because of the 17th-century shell. Moreover, it is important in connection with the city fortification.
