Inleiding
HERENHUIS "De Brink" uit ca. 1900 in neo-renaissancestijl.
Het huis is gebouwd voor fabrikant J.W. Swane, die aan de oostkant van het huis op Willibrorduslaan 4 een linnenfabriek dreef.
De kelder van het huis is uit 1845, deze bevat een jaartalsteen.
Het monument bestaat uit een voorhuis aan de Markt en een achterhuis aan de Willibrorduslaan no. 2, samen vormen ze een L-vormige plattegrond.
Omschrijving
Het voorhuis bestaat uit twee bouwlagen onder mansardedak met leien gedekt. De voorgevel is vijf traveeën breed met een middenrisaliet, hoekpliasters en speklagen.
Het huis is opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen gemetseld in kruisverband. Verder bevat het hardsteen in fries, cordon en basement en wordt bekroond met een gekorniste kroonlijst.
Boven de voodeur een harstenen balkon met balustrade en consoles. De muuropeningen van het huis zijn getoogd, hierin bevinden zich T-vensters. In de voorgevel bevindt zich in de segmentboog boven de vensters een sluitsteen met in het boogveld tegeltjes.
In het dak houten dakkapellen met torendakjes en één stenen kapel met trapgevel. Het dak en de kapellen zijn bekroond door loden pirons.
Voordeur met houtsnijwerk en smeedijzeren deurroosters.
Het kerldervenster aan de Willibrorduslaan heeft tralies van siersmeedwerk. Voor het huis een hardstenen stoep.
Het achterhuis, waarvan de architectuur soberder is dan die van het voorhuis, bestaat eveneens uit twee bouwlagen onder mansardedak, echter de bovenverdieping en het dak zijn lager. Opvallend is de driezijdige erker op de verdieping met erboven in het dak een gemetselde kapel met trapgevel.
Tussen voor- en achterhuis bevindt zich een hardstenen vergaarbak onder de goot.
Inwendig ondermeer paneeldeuren, stucplafonds en kastenwanden uit de bouwtijd.
Waardering
Het woonhuis bij de linnenfabriek Swane is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de nijverheid en als voorbeeld van de stichting van fabrikantenwoningen als onderdeel van het fabriekscomplex; het is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van het woonhuis. Het object is van architectuurhistorisch belang door de stijl en de detaillering. Het huis is van belang vanwege de architectonische gaafheid van het in- en exterieur.

Description
The front house consists of two storeys under a mansard roof covered with slate. The front facade is five bays wide with a central risalite, corner pilasters and speckled layers.
The house is constructed of machine-made brick laid in cross bond. It further contains ashlar in frieze, cordon and basement and is crowned with a corniced cornice.
Above the front door a stone balcony with balustrade and consoles. The wall openings of the house are arched, within which are T-windows. In the front facade, in the segmental arch above the windows, is a keystone with tiles in the arch field.
In the roof wooden roof dormers with tower roofs and one stone chapel with stepped gable. The roof and chapels are crowned by lead finials.
