Inleiding
De TUINMANSWONING, met invloeden van Chaletstijl en Vernieuwingsstijl, is gelegen aan de noordoostzijde van het Julianapark te Bolsward, dat in 1913 werd gerealiseerd naar ontwerp van de firma Wybren Krijns & Co uit Joure. De woning moet eveneens omstreeks 1913 zijn gebouwd (ontwerper onbekend) en maakt daarvan, door haar iets verhoogde ligging aan de rand van het park, stedenbouwkundig en functioneel deel uit. De voorgevel is op het park georinteerd. De lage aanbouw aan de achterzijde is van recente datum en valt derhalve buiten de bescherming.
Omschrijving
De woning is opgetrokken in donkerrode baksteen en wordt gedekt door een geknikt samengesteld dak onder een rode ongeglazuurde Hollandse pan. De forse windveer is onder de nok dichtgezet. Op het achterdakvlak staan twee gemetselde schoorstenen. De plattegrond van het huis is globaal L-vormig met aan de parkzijde rondom gemetselde bloembakken. Voor de voordeur ligt een twee treden tellende bordestrap. De voorgevel (aan de zuidzijde) bestaat uit een rechter deel met ingangspartij en een terugspringend linker gedeelte. Het rechter deel wordt ingedeeld door een voordeur met raam met dubbele lijst en een bovenlicht met aan weerszijden een raam met bovenlicht. In het terugspringend gedeelte zit één venster met bovenlicht en in het dakvlak erboven een dakkapel. Op de verdieping bevindt zich een fors houten balkon op sleutelstukken voorzien van een spijlenbalustrade. Een dubbele deur met daarboven een eenruit-venster verschaft toegang tot het balkon. De oostgevel heeft één dubbel raam met bovenlichten; in het dakvlak zit een dakkapel. Aan deze gevel grenst een bakstenen erfscheiding met geblokte lisenen, een rollaag als afdekking en een houten poort met een segmentboog. De westgevel heeft een dubbel venster met bovenlichten en een houten openslaande deur op de verdieping onder de nok. De noordgevel wordt op de begane grond voor een groot deel door de aanbouw aan het zicht onttrokken. In de top, met houten, strakke windveer, zitten drie T-vensters met drieruits-bovenlichten. Alle lateien van de deuren en vensters zijn van beton en hebben een versiering in Vernieuwingsstijl.

The GARDENER'S LODGE, with influences from Chalet style and Art Nouveau style, is located on the northeast side of the Julianapark in Bolsward, which was realised in 1913 according to a design by the firm Wybren Krijns & Co from Joure. In front of the front door lies a step landing consisting of two steps. The front facade (on the south side) consists of a right part with entrance section and a recessed left section. To this facade adjoins a brick boundary wall with blocked pilasters, a roll moulding as covering and a wooden gate with a segmented arch. The west facade has a double window with fanlights and a wooden hinged door on the upper storey under the ridge. The north facade is on the ground floor for a large part concealed from view by the extension. In the top, with wooden, taut wind brace, sit three T-windows with three-pane fanlights. All lintels of the doors and windows are of concrete and have decoration in Art Nouveau style.
