Inleiding
DIENSTWONING (type VI) voor lager personeel in de stijlvormen van het Functionalisme uit 1938-39, gebouwd door de Tsjech Thomas Bata bij zijn schoenfabriek in Batadorp. Het ontwerp is vermoedelijk van architect Antonín Vítek, die verbonden was aan de moederfabriek te Zlín (Tsjechoslowakije). Van dit bouwtype VI is slechts één blok gebouwd.
In heel Batadorp werden, in het tweede kwart van de 20ste eeuw, voor lager en hoger personeel van de fabriek 123 dienstwoningen gebouwd in negen bouwtypes.
Omschrijving

De indeling van de huizen, die het spiegelbeeld zijn van elkaar is als volgt:Op de begane grond een gang met trap en w.c., woonkamer, keuken, kelderkast onder de trap, bergplaats. op de verdieping drie slaapkamers. De woonkamervloer, verdiepingsvloer en het plat dak hebben een houten balklaag. De rest van de vloeren is van beton voorzien van een deklaag van cement-estrik of terrazzowerk.
Waardering
De dubbele dienstwoning type VI is van algemeen belang. SERVANTS' QUARTERS (type VI) for lower-ranking staff in the Functionalist style from 1938-39, built by the Czech Thomas Bata at his shoe factory in Batadorp.
