Omschrijving complexonderdeel 1
De PARKAANLEG van het Cantonspark dateert van 1905 en is in een gemengde stijl aangelegd binnen de parralellogramvormige plattegrond van het complex. Voor de aan de noordzijde gelegen wintertuin ligt een cirkelvormige aanleg met in het midden een ronde fontein. Van hieruit loopt een hoofdpad in oostelijke en in westelijke richting. Aan de noordoostzijde van het park loopt het hoofdpad in een gebogen lijn tot achter de wintertuin. Dwars op de oost-westas loopt een zichtlijn vanuit de wintertuin via terrassen naar een landschappelijk gedeelte van het park aan de zuidzijde. Hierdoorheen slingert een sloot. De hoofdentree van het park bevindt zich aan de westzijde, aan de Faas Eliaslaan. Links van de entree ligt de van het terrein afgescheiden tuinmanswoning. Vanaf de wintertuin loopt een pad gebogen in zuidelijke richting langs het tennishuisje in de richting van de kwekerij. Deze is gelegen in de zuidwesthoek van het park en is deels ommuurd. De kinderboerderij aan de zuidwestzijde valt buiten de bescherming. Parallel aan het hoofdpad loopt een smaller tweede pad. Op een hoger gelegen gedeelte in het midden van het park, tussen de twee oost-west lopende paden, ligt de follie. Aan de westzijde is een pinetum (coniferentuin) gelegen met bakstenen muurtjes en een bestrating van flagstones. Het park heeft een uitgebreid botanisch bomenbestand met onder andere een tulpenboom, hazelaar en sneeuwklokjesboom.

Het park is van cultuurhistorische waarde vanwege de ontstaans- en ontwikkelingsgeschiedenis. Voorts is het park van waarde als herkenbaar restant van een botanische tuin met waardevolle boomsoorten. Description of complex component 1
The PARK LAYOUT of Cantonspark dates from 1905 and is laid out in a mixed style within the parallelogram-shaped ground plan of the complex. In front of the winter garden located on the northern side lies a circular layout with a round fountain in the centre. From here a main path runs in an eastern and in a western direction. On the north-eastern side of the park the main path runs in a curved line to behind the winter garden. Perpendicular to the east-west axis runs a sight line from the winter garden via terraces to a landscape section of the park on the southern side. A ditch winds through it. The main entrance to the park is located on the western side, on the Faas Eliaslaan. To the left of the entrance lies the gardener's lodge, which is separated from the terrain. From the winter garden a path runs curved in a southern direction along the tennis house in the direction of the nursery. This is located in the south-western corner of the park and is partly walled. The children's farm on the south-western side falls outside the protection. Parallel to the main path runs a narrower second path. On a higher located area in the middle of the park, between the two east-west running paths, lies the folly. On the western side a pinetum (conifer garden) is located with brick walls and a paving of flagstones. The park has an extensive botanical tree stock including a tulip tree, hazel and snowdrop tree.
