TOEGANGSHEK tot de begraafplaats, behorend bij het religieuze complex Johannes de Doper te Westbeemster en gelegen op het westelijk deel van het complex, daterend uit omstreeks 1880.
Omschrijving
Rijk versierd ijzeren toegangshek tot de begraafplaats. De hekpijlers zijn ieder samengesteld uit twee stijlen waartussen horizontale en gebogen spijlen zijn aangebracht voor de verstijving. In de top van de linker pijler staat de spreuk "HEDEN IK" en op de andere pijler "MORGEN GIJ". De pijlers dragen een boog met de spreuk "ZALIG DE DOODEN DIE IN DEN HEER STERVEN". De boog wordt bekroond door een Latijns kruis. De spijlen van het hekwerk worden bekroond door versierde pijlpunten.
Waardering
Het toegangshek tot de katholieke begraafplaats is van algemeen belang wegens cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het Sint-Jan de Doper-complex en als gaaf bewaard gebleven voorbeeld van een smeedijzeren begraafplaatshek uit het vierde kwart van de negentiende eeuw met toepasselijke spreuken.

Description
Richly decorated iron entrance gate to the burial ground. The gate pillars are each composed of two posts with horizontal and curved spikes between them for bracing. On the top of the left pillar stands the saying "HEDEN IK" and on the other pillar "MORGEN GIJ". The pillars carry an arch with the saying "ZALIG DE DOODEN DIE IN DEN HEER STERVEN". The arch is crowned by a Latin cross. The spikes of the fencing are crowned by decorated spear points.
Valuation
The entrance gate to the Catholic burial ground is of general significance due to its cultural and architectural-historical value as a historical-functional component of the Sint-Jan de Doper complex and as a well-preserved example of a wrought-iron burial ground gate from the fourth quarter of the nineteenth century with appropriate sayings.
