Inleiding
PRIEEL, daterend uit het einde van de negentiende eeuw, gelegen in de voortuin van de pastorie. Het prieel is gesitueerd vóór de aansluiting van de pastorie en de kerk, dus in de noordwesthoek van de voortuin.
Omschrijving
Houten prieel opgetrokken op rechthoekig grondplan en bestaande uit een constructie van houten stijl- en regelwerk dat een zadeldak draagt met bitumineuze dakbedekking (oorsprong lei). Het zadeldak heeft houten chalet-achtige overstekken met nok- en hoekmakelaars. Het stijl- en regelwerk is aan drie zijden (de korte zijden en één lange zijde) betimmerd met latten, geplaatst onder een hoek van 45 graden. De lange voorzijde van het prieel is vrijwel geheel open en heeft een omlijsting van opengewerkt houtwerk.
Waardering

Arbour, dating from the end of the nineteenth century, located in the front garden of the rectory. The arbour is situated in front of the junction of the rectory and the church, thus in the northwest corner of the front garden.
Description
Wooden arbour erected on a rectangular groundplan and consisting of a construction of wooden posts and rails that carries a gabled roof with bituminous roof covering (original slate). The gabled roof has wooden chalet-like overhangs with ridge and corner brackets. The posts and rails are boarded on three sides (the short sides and one long side) with laths, placed at an angle of 45 degrees. The long front of the arbour is almost completely open and has a frame of openwork timber.
Valuation
The late nineteenth-century arbour is of general significance due to its cultural and architectural-historical value as an added component of the Sint-Jan de Doper complex and is of typological significance as a well-preserved example of an arbour built in chalet-like style from the fourth quarter of the nineteenth century.
