Omschrijving
Inleiding

Description
Introduction
PARSONAGE, built around 1880, probably according to a design by H. Bijvoets. The parsonage is connected by means of a single-storey connecting section to the southwest side of the church. The parsonage is built in eclectic style with Neo-Gothic elements. A front garden separates the parsonage from the Jisperweg.
Description
Parsonage erected on a T-shaped ground plan and partly cellarage, consisting of two storeys under a roof composed of gabled and mansard roof with slate in Maas bond and near the ridge zinc with gutter. The western roof slope has a roof dormer. The brickwork is erected in red brick and has among other things stepped buttresses, toothed courses and saddle-back coping. The toothed courses are situated mainly beneath the gutters, the saddle-back coping on the brickwork of the pointed gables. East, south and west elevations consist in part of a pointed gable with shoulder pieces and a crown formed by a pinnacle. At the level of the floors of the upper storey and attic the brickwork has ornamental wall anchors. The window openings and the various blank panels are all arched at the top and provided at the bottom with sills in hard stone. The arch rings have tile mosaic. Most window openings (corresponding with the window bays) have six-pane sash windows with leaded glass in the fanlights.
The front elevation (east) has five window bays, whereby the two leftmost bays are situated in a projecting pointed gable. The gable top has a central six-pane window, identical to the other windows in the building, but is flanked by a lower and narrower two-light window. The central window bay, recessed with respect to the projecting section, contains the main entrance. This entrance consists of a panel door in a porch with pointed arch entrance. This porch is the underside of a balcony with closed parapet.
The left side elevation (south) has four window bays. The two middle ones are situated in a projecting pointed gable. The left side elevation has two blank panels: respectively on the ground floor in the first window bay from the front elevation and on the upper floor in the two window bays from the front elevation. The gable top of the central pointed gable has the same window arrangement as the gable top of the pointed gable on the front.
The rear elevation (west) has six window bays, whereby the two right bays are situated in a projecting pointed gable. This pointed gable has in the middle a toothed flue. Both storeys are blank (blank panels), only the gable top has a narrow two-light window on either side of the flue. The four bays in the recessed gable section have in the second bay from the projecting gable a blank panel on both storeys. The upper floor has in this blank panel two small leaded glass windows for the lighting of the stairwell. The first bay from the gable has a panel door. The remaining bays have, as elsewhere in the building, the aforementioned six-pane sash windows.
The right side elevation (north) is a gable that from the ground floor via a single-storey volume under gabled roof with Rhine bond is connected to the sacristy of the church. The gable above the connection follows the form of the mansard roof, has two toothed flues and toothed crown at the gable top. The gable top has two T-windows for the lighting of the attic.
Valuation
The parsonage dating from around 1880 is of general importance due to cultural and architectural-historical value as a historically-functional component of the Sint-Jan de Doper complex and as a well-preserved and characteristic example of a late nineteenth-century church service dwelling. The parsonage also has ensemble value with the adjoining church building.
