Inleiding
Woning gebouwd in 1911 in opdracht van de Drentsche Landontginning Mij. gevestigd te Rotterdam, als beambtewoning bij de Griendtsveense Turfstrooiselfabriek.
Het ontwerp van het pand is toegespitst op de ligging aan een kruising.
(In het oorspronkelijke ontwerp had de dakkapel een lessenaardak, wsl. is tijdens de bouw al besloten voor een zadeldak). Het pand verkeert nog geheel in originele staat.
De bescherming betreft het totale bouwvolume inclusief de detaillering van de gevels.
Beschrijving Gedeeltelijk onderkelderde woning, opgetrokken in baksteen over één bouwlaag, vanaf een rechthoekige plattegrond, onder een met muldenpannen gedekt zadeldak. Op de nok twee schoorstenen. In alle gevels rechtgesloten T-vensters onder segmentbogen met metselmozaïek in de boogtrommels.
In de kopse voorgevel (N) links de entree, rechts twee van de genoemde T- vensters. In de geveltop een dubbelvenster. Opvallend is het sierspant met makelaar in de windveren.
De rechtergevel (W) heeft een risaliet die de daklijst doorbreekt en uitloopt in een dakkapel onder zadeldak. De topgevel van de dakkapel, met schuifvenster, heeft eenzelfde opvallende detaillering als in de voorgevel, met sierspant en makelaar. Op de begane grond vier T-vensters, waarvan één in de risaliet.
In de andere kopgevel (Z) links op beide verdiepingen een T-venster zoals beschreven, recht op de begane grond een deur met bovenlicht en op de verdieping een kleinere versie van het T-venster.
De oostgevel is bijna geheel blind. Geheel links onder bevinden zich, op verschillende hoogte, twee kelderramen.
Van het interieur is de oorspronkelijk indeling gehandhaafd.

(In the original design the roof dormer had a catslide roof, probably during construction it was decided to use a gabled roof instead). The building remains entirely in its original condition.
The protection concerns the total building volume including the detailing of the facades.
Description Partly cellared dwelling, constructed in brick over one storey, from a rectangular floor plan, under a gabled roof covered with mulden tiles. Two chimneys on the ridge. In all facades T-windows under segmental arches with brick mosaic in the arch drums.
In the gable front (N) on the left the entrance, on the right two of the mentioned T-windows. In the gable top a double window. Notable is the ornamental roof tie with brace in the wind braces.
The right facade (W) has a risalit that breaks through the roof line and extends into a roof dormer under gabled roof. The gable top of the roof dormer, with sash window, has the same notable detailing as in the front facade, with ornamental roof tie and brace.
