Omschrijving
Inleiding.
Locomotievenloods gebouwd in de periode 1910-1911 ten behoeve van de Griendtsveen Turfstrooisel Maatschappij. Het gebouw is opgericht voor smalspoorlocomotieven, die ingezet werden voor de aanvoer van grondstoffen uit het veen naar de turfstrooiselfabrieken. Grote delen van het smalspoortracé in de omgeving van de loods en de fabriek zijn aanwezig en geven het terrein een meerwaarde. De bescherming richt zich evenwel op de locomotievenloods.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekige grondslag opgemetseld gebouw gedekt door een zadeldak met muldenpan; windveren; eenvoudige zinken mastgoot. Aan de noordzijde een uitspringend deel met vier dubbele inrijdeuren voor de locomotieven, links daarvan een getoogd gietijzeren venster. De oostelijke topgevel heeft een asymmetrische indeling met drie getoogde gietijzeren vensters. De zuidelijke gevel heeft vier getoogde gietijzeren vensters; rechts een getoogde loopdeur. De westelijke topgevel bevat twee dito vensters. INTERIEUR: De vier locstanden zijn aanwezig met de bijbehorende opgemetselde smeerkelders. Op de houten spantconstructie is een geklonken dieselolietank (met open bovenkant) gemonteerd. Vrij uniek is de pompinstallatie voor benzol-tractie.
Waardering
De locomotievenloods is mede als onderdeel van het complex van cultuurhistorisch, architectuurhistorisch, typologisch en stedenbouwkundig belang. Daarbij zijn vooral ook de industrieel-archeologische waarden aan de orde. Uniek en betrekkelijk gaaf.

Introduction.
Locomotive shed built in the period 1910-1911 for the benefit of the Griendtsveen Turf Litter Company. The building was erected for narrow-gauge locomotives which were used for the transport of raw materials from the peatland to the turf litter factories. Large sections of the narrow-gauge track in the vicinity of the shed and the factory are present and give the site added value. The protection is, however, directed at the locomotive shed.
Description
Built on a rectangular plan structure covered with a gabled roof with curved tiles; carved roof ornaments; simple zinc gutter. On the north side a projecting section with four double carriage entrance doors for the locomotives, to the left of which a curved cast-iron window. The eastern gable has an asymmetrical layout with three curved cast-iron windows. The southern facade has four curved cast-iron windows; on the right a curved access door. The western gable contains two similar windows. INTERIOR: The four locomotive stands are present with the associated brick-built lubricating cellars. On the wooden roof truss structure a riveted diesel oil tank (with open top) is mounted. Unique is the pump installation for benzol traction.
Valuation
The locomotive shed is valued as part of the complex for cultural-historical, architectural-historical, typological and urban planning significance. Particular regard is given to industrial-archaeological values. Unique and relatively well-preserved.
