Omschrijving complexonderdeel 3
Een TUINBEELD, geplaatst aan de westelijk oever van de vijver, voorstellende de godin van de landbouw Ceres of Demeter. Mogelijk is het uit de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw stammende beeld afkomstig van de buitenplaats Zandbergen. Het beeld heeft een gedeeltelijk zinken bekleding om een betonnen kern (Monnierwerk) en is mogelijk vervaardigd door de Zeister zinkfabriek van L. Schuetz. De godin is gekleed in een chiton (Grieks gewaad). Zij staat op een gecementeerd rustica basement, waarin imitatievoegen zijn getrokken. Ceres staat op haar rechterbeen, waarvoor haar linkerbeen kruislings is gezet, terwijl haar linkerhand op een gecanneleerde pijler rust. Haar blik is op de vijver gericht. Aan de voet van de pijler bevindt zich een cornu copia (hoorn des overvloeds), het attribuut van de godin.
Het tuinbeeld verkeert in tamelijk een slechte staat. Van de rechterarm ontbreekt de zinken bekleding, terwijl de hand geheel ontbreekt. Het linkerbeen is vanaf de knie aangetast en heeft geen voet. Het gezicht is sterk beschadigd: neus, mond en kin ontbreken.

A GARDEN STATUE, placed on the western bank of the pond, depicting the goddess of agriculture Ceres or Demeter. Possibly the statue, dating from the second half of the nineteenth century, originates from the country estate Zandbergen. The statue has a partial zinc covering over a concrete core (Monnierwerk) and was possibly manufactured by the Zeist zinc factory of L. Schuetz. The goddess is dressed in a chiton (Greek garment). She stands on a cemented rustic basement, in which imitation mortar joints have been scored. Ceres stands on her right leg, her left leg crossed in front, while her left hand rests on a fluted pillar. Her gaze is directed at the pond. At the foot of the pillar is a cornucopia (horn of plenty), the attribute of the goddess.
The garden statue is in rather poor condition. The zinc covering of the right arm is missing, while the hand is completely absent. The left leg is damaged from the knee and has no foot. The face is severely damaged: the nose, mouth and chin are missing.
