Inleiding
STOLPBOERDERIJ van het Noordhollandse type, behorend bij het weeshuiscomplex "Huize van Strijen". De stolpboerderij, genaamd "Uit den Haak", is gelegen aan de oostzijde van de Grote Sloot. Ten zuiden van de boerderij ligt het weeshuis, ten noorden ligt de voormalige arbeiderswoning. De boerderij werd gebouwd in 1898-1899, nadat een vorig gebouw op die plaats door brand was verwoest.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekig grondplan gebouwde stolpboerderij onder rietgedekt schilddak met getoogde spiegel aan de voorzijde en pannenrand rondom. De pangedekte delen bevatten platte Friese pannen. In de top van de getoogde spiegel wordt het dak doorsneden door een ronde bakstenen schoorsteen op vierkanten basis. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in baksteen boven een uitgemetselde plint. Op diverse plaatsen in het muurwerk zijn staafankers zichtbaar.
De inwendige draagconstructie bestaat uit een dubbel vierkant. Aan de westzijde van het vierkant bevindt zich de woning, aan de zuid- en oostzijde respectievelijk de lange en de korte regel, aan de noordzijde bevindt zich de dars.
De voorgevel (W) heeft een breedte van zes vensterassen en is opgetrokken boven een uitgemetselde, gepleisterde plint. Vijf vensterassen bevatten een getoogd houten T-venster met schuifraam, luiken en houten lekdorpel. De tweede as van rechts bevat een rechthoekige houten deur met een getoogd bovenlicht. Elke vensteras wordt bekroond door een gestucte strek met decoratieve gekroonde guirlandes. De gevel wordt afgesloten door een geprofileerde houten gootlijst.
De rechterzijgevel (Z) bevat nog vier oorspronkelijke hooggeplaatste houten stalvensters met tweeruits-klapramen en houten lekdorpels.
De achtergevel (O) bevat een rechthoekige houten deur met bovenlicht (bij de zomerstal) en nog één hooggeplaatst rechthoekig houten stalvenster met tweeruits-klapraam. Geheel rechts bevindt zich iets terugliggend de opgeklampte dubbele darsdeur.
De linkerzijgevel (N) bevat nog drie oorspronkelijke hooggeplaatste rechthoekige houten darsramen met houten lekdorpel.
Waardering
De in streek-eigen bouwtrant uitgevoerde stolpboerderij "Uit den Haak" is van algemeen belang uit cultuur- en architectuurhistorisch oogpunt als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het weeshuiscomplex "Huize van Strijen". Daarnaast is het object van belang als gaaf bewaard gebleven voorbeeld van landelijke bouwkunst uit de periode rond 1900 met rijke gevelbehandeling.

STOLP FARMHOUSE of the North Holland type, belonging to the orphanage complex "Huize van Strijen". The stolp farmhouse, named "Uit den Haak", is situated on the east side of the Grote Sloot. To the south of the farmhouse lies the orphanage, to the north lies the former workers' dwelling. The farmhouse was built in 1898-1899, after a previous building on that site was destroyed by fire.
Description
Stolp farmhouse built on a rectangular ground plan under a reed-thatched hipped roof with arched mirror at the front and pantile edging all around. The pantile-covered parts contain flat Frisian tiles. At the top of the arched mirror the roof is pierced by a round brick chimney on a square base. The facades are built in brick above a rendered plinth. In various places in the brickwork ornamental wall anchors are visible.
The internal load-bearing structure consists of a double square. On the west side of the square is situated the dwelling, on the south and east sides respectively the long section and the short section, on the north side is the threshing floor.
The front facade (W) has a width of six window bays and is built above a rendered, plastered plinth. Five window bays contain an arched wooden T-window with sash window, shutters and wooden drip moulding. The second bay from the right contains a rectangular wooden door with an arched fanlight. Each window bay is crowned by a stuccoed surround with decorative crowned garlands. The facade is finished with a profiled wooden drip moulding.
The right side facade (S) contains four original high-placed wooden stable windows with two-light hinged frames and wooden drip mouldings.
The rear facade (E) contains a rectangular wooden door with fanlight (at the summer stable) and one more high-placed rectangular wooden stable window with two-light hinged frame. On the far right, set back slightly, is the clamped double threshing-floor door.
The left side facade (N) contains three original high-placed rectangular wooden threshing-floor windows with wooden drip moulding.
Valuation
The stolp farmhouse "Uit den Haak", executed in regional building tradition, is of general significance from a cultural and architectural-historical point of view as a historically-functional component of the orphanage complex "Huize van Strijen". Furthermore, the object is of significance as a well-preserved example of rural architecture from around 1900 with rich facade treatment.
