Inleiding
Houten HEK, zijnde toegangshek tot pachtgrond behorende bij het weeshuiscomplex "Huize van Strijen". Het hek is geplaatst bij de ingang (aan de Grote Sloot) van een perceel pachtgrond, gelegen ten zuiden van het weeshuis. Naast dit exemplaar zijn verschillende soortgelijke hekken aanwezig bij de overige pachtgronden van het weeshuis. De bescherming berust op één hek, om als specimen van de soort bewaard te blijven.
Omschrijving
Houten hek, bestaande uit vier horizontale delen, verstevigd door middel van dwars en schuingeplaatste planken. Op de bovenste regel van het houtwerk is de tekst "ALGEMEEN WEESHUIS" geschilderd. Het hek is door middel van ijzeren hang- en sluitwerk aan twee betonnen pijlers bevestigd.
Waardering
Het hek is van algemeen belang als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het weeshuiscomplex "Huize van Strijen".

Introduction
Wooden GATE, being access gate to leasehold land belonging to the orphanage complex "Huize van Strijen". The gate is placed at the entrance (on the Grote Sloot) of a leasehold land plot, located south of the orphanage. Description
Wooden gate, consisting of four horizontal sections, reinforced by means of cross and diagonally placed planks. On the top rule of the woodwork is painted the text "ALGEMEEN WEESHUIS". The gate is attached to two concrete pillars by means of iron hinges and latches.
Valuation
The gate is of general importance as a historically-functional component of the orphanage complex "Huize van Strijen".
