Inleiding
TOEGANGSPARTIJ, behorend bij het weeshuiscomplex "Huize van Strijen". De toegangspartij, bestaande uit twee hekpijlers en een toegangshek, bevindt zich aan de westzijde voor het weeshuis, bij de weg (de Grote Sloot).
Omschrijving
Op vierkant grondplan opgetrokken bakstenen hekpijlers aan weerszijden van een ijzeren hek. De hekpijlers zijn opgetrokken in twee tinten baksteen en zijn aan vier zijden voorzien van een bakstenen liseen. De plint, basement, kapitelen en de afdekplaten met beeldhouwwerken van putti zijn vervaardigd van hardsteen. De pijlers onderscheiden zich door verschillen in de beeldhouwwerken op de top.
De linkerpijler (de noordelijke) heeft een gebeeldhouwde bekroning, bestaande uit een putto die in de linkerhand een wapenschild draagt en met de rechterhand steunt op een 'hoorn des overvloeds'. Op het wapenschild zijn de wapens van de families Van Strijen en Van Bambeeck afgebeeld.
De rechter-, zuidelijke pijler heeft een gebeeldhouwde bekroning, bestaande uit een putto die in de rechterhand een wapenschild vasthoudt en met de linkerhand een pot. Op het wapenschild is het wapen van de familie Van Strijen afgebeeld.
Het hekwerk tussen de pijlers bestaat uit een gietijzeren spijlenhek met puntige top.

Description
Brick gate piers built on a square ground plan on either side of an iron gate. The gate piers are built in two shades of brick and are provided on all four sides with a brick band. The plinth, base, capitals and the coping slabs with sculptural work of putti are made of sandstone. The piers are distinguished by differences in the sculptural works on top.
The left pier (the northern one) has a sculpted crown, consisting of a putto who carries a coat of arms in his left hand and supports himself with his right hand on a 'cornucopia'. On the coat of arms are depicted the arms of the families Van Strijen and Van Bambeeck.
