Inleiding
Tussen 1812 en 1823 aangelegd NAT DOK, in 1857 aan de noordzijde met 30 meter verlengd. Het natte dok is gesitueerd in het midden van het complex Rijkswerf Willemsoord. In feite is de Rijkswerf om het natte dok aangelegd. In 1857 werden de rijzen kaden vervangen door bazalten kademuren langs de boorden.
N.B. Nadien werden vele kaden vervangen door stalen damwanden. De boorden zijn tegenwoordig (1995) van gewapend beton met ijzeren stootranden.
Omschrijving
NAT DOK met rechthoekig grondplan met een breedte (oost-west) van circa 135 meter en een lengte (noord-zuid) van circa 325 meter. Het natte dok is gesitueerd in het midden van de werf. In feite is de werf rondom het natte dok aangelegd. De noordelijke hoeken van het natte dok zijn afgerond. De diepte van het natte dok was oorspronkelijk circa 8 meter.
Waardering
Het dok is van algemeen belang als historisch functioneel hoofdonderdeel van het complex Rijkswerf Willemsoord. Daarnaast is het object van algemeen belang uit cultuurhistorisch oogpunt als voorbeeld van een in de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw gebouwd nat dok.

Introduction
WET DOCK constructed between 1812 and 1823, extended on the north side by 30 metres in 1857. The wet dock is situated in the centre of the Rijkswerf Willemsoord complex. In fact, the Rijkswerf was laid out around the wet dock. In 1857 the osier quays were replaced by basalt quay walls along the sides.
N.B. Subsequently many quays were replaced by steel sheet piling. The sides are nowadays (1995) of reinforced concrete with iron mooring edges.

The wet dock is situated in the centre of the shipyard. In fact, the shipyard was laid out around the wet dock. The northern corners of the wet dock are rounded. The depth of the wet dock was originally approximately 8 metres.
