Omschrijving onderdeel 65:
HUIS 'BORNERBRAAK' MET SCHUUR behorende tot de buitenplaats Twickel. Op een open plek in het bos gelegen bakstenen woonhuis van twee bouwlagen gebouwd op rechthoekige grondslag door architect G.J. Uiterwijk in 1905. Het met rode kruispannen gedekte samengestelde schild- en zadeldak heeft uilenborden en een schoorsteen op de nok. In de dakschilden aan de noord- en zuidkant zijn dakkapellen met dubbele zesruits vensters onder met rode kruispannen gedekte overstekende zadeldakjes. Op de nok van de dakkapellen een makelaar. De topgevels van de hoog opgaande middenpartijen, aan de oost- en westgevel onder een steekkap, zijn voorzien van een natuurstenen dekplaat en schouderstukken. De hoofdingang in de westgevel bestaat uit een eenvoudige deur in een portiek onder een rondboog; terugliggende ingang. In de gevels 20ste-eeuwse kruisvensters met roedenverdeling en gedeeltelijk luiken in Twickelkleuren. De eenvoudige gootlijst rust op klossen. Aan de oostzijde van het woonhuis een kleine bakstenen schuur onder een asymmetrisch afgewolfd zadeldak met uilenborden en een eenvoudige windveer. Het dak is gedekt met rode Hollandse pannen. In de oost- en westgevel aan elke kant twee (vernieuwde) staldeuren, waartussen in de westgevel een vijfruitsvenster. De kopse gevels (noord en zuid) hebben ruitvormige gevelopeningen met gemetseld maaswerk. Hetzelfde bouwjaar van het huis. Oorspronkelijk gebouwd als dienstwoning voor de bosbaas, tegenwoordig in gebruik als woonhuis.

HOUSE 'BORNERBRAAK' WITH BARN belonging to the country estate Twickel. Located in a clearing in the forest, brick residential house of two storeys built on rectangular ground plan by architect G.J. Uiterwijk in 1905. The combined hipped and gabled roof covered with red cross tiles has owl boards and a chimney on the ridge. In the roof slopes on the north and south sides are roof dormers with double six-pane windows beneath projecting gabled rooflets covered with red cross tiles. On the ridge of the dormers a cresting. The gable ends of the tall central sections, on the east and west gable beneath a sloping roof, are provided with a stone coping and corner stones. The main entrance in the west gable consists of a simple door in a portico beneath a round arch; recessed entrance. In the gables 20th-century cross windows with glazing bars and partially shutters in Twickel colours. The simple cornice rests on corbels. On the east side of the residential house a small brick barn beneath an asymmetrical curved gabled roof with owl boards and a simple weathervane. The roof is covered with red Dutch tiles. In the east and west gable on each side two (renewed) stable doors, between which in the west gable a five-pane window. The gable ends (north and south) have diamond-shaped roof openings with brick tracery. Same building date as the house. Originally built as an official dwelling for the forest officer, nowadays used as a residential house.
