Inleiding
Beschrijving

Description
Introduction
FARM COMPLEX consisting of a long-gable farmhouse, a longitudinal-division barn, a cart shed and a water well, dating from around 1825. It is located in the hamlet of Snijders-Chaam with a largely medieval plot structure. Alterations in 1950 and 1978.
Description
Single-storey partly cellared long-gable farmhouse with rectangular floor plan, of which the dwelling part is built from IJssel brick in English bond, the business section from handmade brick. It is covered with a thatched half-hipped roof with chimneys at the location of the firewall and above the side wall. Staff anchors in all walls. In the dwelling house, which is three window bays wide, lies the clamped front door with low divided fanlight in the middle and on either side six-pane sash windows with shutters. In the short gable small single-pane windows mark the position of the cellar, upper room and attic. In the cemented rear façade lie a one- and four-pane window and a clamped door with four-part fanlight at the location of the gutter. In the business section the clamped half door with single fanlight. Around 1950 the former potsherd stable doors were replaced by a cement stable frame and wooden door. The brickwork in the cross gable shows traces of a blocked pig sty, and alterations from 1978 when two arched stable frames and a door for the milking parlour were made. The attic hatch lies in the original position. In the front façade around 1950 the arched stable doors and half-moon window were replaced by two cement stable frames. Four tie beams laid in the walls are supported by central posts. The end grains can be seen in two places in the dwelling house façade.
Internally the original layout and parts of the furnishings are preserved in the dwelling house. Behind the main entrance the living room with broad moulded chimney and next to it the former bed alcove. In the kitchen lies a clamped trap door to the cellar, next to it a small staircase to the upper room and a staircase located there to the attic. All doors are clamped doors.
Pottery-tiled longitudinal-division barn with clamped high corner entry doors under corrugated metal hipped roof. The barn has three oak one-sided overhanging tie beam frames and rafters with collar tie.
Pottery-tiled cart shed with corrugated metal hipped roof with one open bay and two entrances with clamped doors. Internally two willow wood tie beam frames with central post support scissor rafters with beam.
In front of the dwelling house runs a small step and stand two lime trees with approximately 100 and 150 cm circumference. On the rear yard a stone path to the water well. Next to the ash tree a specimen of approximately 250 cm circumference. On the yard further a tame chestnut, a willow and beech hedge.
Valuation
The farm complex has cultural-historical value as an example of a socio-economic development of a small-scale farm business. It has architectural-historical value because of the completeness of each of the constituent parts, in particular the relationship between exterior and interior of the farmhouse, in which the main layout and parts of the original interior are present. As one of the few remaining witnesses of its time, the complex, in all its simplicity, is important because of its historical significance.
