Inleiding.
De DIENSTWONING voor een boswachter is ca. 1890 gebouwd in Ambachtelijk-Traditionele vormentaal. Het huis ligt op een ruim erf met oudere, traditionele beplanting met oude beuken, fruitbomen en in siervorm gesnoeide buxusbompjes en coniferen.
Het behoort bij het landgoed Hondsdonk.
Omschrijving.
Eenlaags woonhuis opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen onder zadeldak met kruispannen gedekt. De voorgevel telt drie raamassen en heeft zesruits schuiframen met hardstenen dorpel en hanekammen in baksteen. De ramen hebben luiken met zandlopermotief en wapenschild in zwart-wit. De opgeklampte deur onder gedeeld bovenlicht vertoont eenzelfde motief. De rechter zijgevel is is een tuitgevel met alleen op de verdieping een tweetal tweeruits schuiframen. Op de rechterhoek van het dak een gepleisterde schoorsteen. De linkergevel heeft een zesruits opkamerraam en een kelderlicht, op de verdieping een tweetal tweeruits schuiframen. De achtergevel heeft een zesruits raam en een aanbouw onder lessenaardak met opgeklmapte deur en halfronde raampjes.
Inwendig enkelvoudige balklagen, oorspronkelijke indeling en eenvoudige paneeldeuren. Naast het huis op het erf een betonnen put met putmik, bestaande uit een gevorkte boomstam. Achter het huis een houten schuurtje onder met oud-Hollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak.
Waardering.
De boswachterswoning is van algemeen belang. Het huis heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de zorg voor de huisvesting van dienstpersoneel en als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de dienstwoning. Het is van architectuurhistorisch belang door de eenvoudige, maar harmonische traditionele bouwvormen. Het heeft ensemblewaarden in samenhang met erf en omgeving, met name als onderdeel van het landgoed Hondsdonk. Het is tevens van belang wegens de architectonische gaafheid van het exterieur.
