Inleiding
DIJKBOERDERIJ bestaande uit woonhuis en schuur onder één dak van het lage type met rieten wolfdak. Aan de dijk ligt een gepotdekseld schuurtje onder zadeldak met rode Oudhollandse pannen. De boerderij ligt in de buurtschap Labbegat dat zich met een eigen haven ontwikkelde tot een industriële kern van bescheiden omvang. De boerderij dateert uit de vroege negentiende eeuw.
Beschrijving
Het eenlaags woonhuis is opgetrokken uit handvorm baksteen met vlechtingen en gedekt door een rieten wolfdak met twee schoorstenen. In de drie raamassen brede voorgevel ligt de ingang met vernieuwde paneeldeur links en rechts twee schuifvensters met luiken en een halfvenster met luik in de zijmuur. Op zolder een vierruitsvenster. Strekken boven de vensters. Smeedijzeren sierankers in de voorgevel, staafankers in de overige muren. Op het erf is aan de linkerzijmuur een aanbouw in handvorm baksteen onder zadeldak met zwarte Oudhollandse pannen en vernieuwde ingang en vensters. In de rechterzijmuur het opkamerraam. Achter de brandmuur een aanzienlijk lager vloerniveau met een uitbouw waarachter de verbrede schuur, beide onder lagere dakvoet. In het woonhuis liggen schuifvensters met bovenlicht. Bouwnaden en de toepassing van verschillende soorten baksteen in de achter- en zijgevels duiden op wijzigingen in verschillende periodes. De linkerzijmuur van het bedrijfsgedeelte is geheel opgetrokken uit rode machinale baksteen met kleine stalraampjes van verschillende grootte. In de achtergevel ligt onder het wolfeind een hooiluik. Verder dubbele opgeklampte inrijdeuren en twee lage houten deuren onder een gewapend betonnen latei en drie zesruits betonnen stalramen.
Inwendig is het woonhuis geschikt gemaakt voor gedeelde bewoning. De hoofdopzet met opkamer en onderkelding tussen woon- en bedrijfsgedeelte is herkenbaar. In het bedrijfsgedeelte is een gaaf overstekend dekbalkgebint bewaard.
Het terrein is van de weg gescheiden door een ijzeren sierhek met spiraalvormen, pijlpunten, blad- en pijnappelmotief.
Waardering
De boerderij heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van het kleinschalige bedrijf. Zij heeft architectuurhistorische waarde wegens de herkenbaarheid van de hoofdstructuur. DIKE FARMHOUSE consisting of a dwelling house and barn under one roof of the low type with thatched half-hipped roof. On the dike lies a tarred-roof small shed under a gabled roof with red Old Dutch tiles. The farmhouse is situated in the hamlet of Labbegat which developed with its own harbour into an industrial centre of modest size. The farmhouse dates from the early nineteenth century.
Description
The single-storey dwelling house is built of handmade brick with wickerwork and covered by a thatched half-hipped roof with two chimneys. In the three-bay wide front facade lies the entrance with renewed panelled door and on either side two sash windows with shutters and a half-window with shutter in the side wall. On the upper storey a four-pane window. Stretchers above the windows. Wrought-iron ornamental wall anchors in the front facade, bar anchors in the other walls. On the yard on the left side wall an extension in handmade brick under a gabled roof with black Old Dutch tiles and renewed entrance and windows. In the right side wall the upper-storey window. Behind the fire wall a considerably lower floor level with an outbuilding behind which the extended barn, both under lower roof eaves. In the dwelling house are sash windows with fanlights. Construction joints and the use of different types of brick in the rear and side facades indicate alterations in different periods. The left side wall of the business section is entirely built of red machine-made brick with small stable windows of different sizes. In the rear facade under the half-hipped roof lies a hay loft door. Further double clamped entrance doors and two low wooden doors under a reinforced concrete lintel and three six-pane concrete stable windows.
Internally the dwelling house has been adapted for shared occupation. The main layout with upper storey room and basement between the residential and business sections is recognizable. In the business section a well-preserved projecting tie-beam truss is retained.
The site is separated from the road by an iron ornamental fence with spiral forms, arrowheads, leaf and pine cone motifs.
Valuation
The farmhouse has cultural-historical value as an example of the socio-economic development of the small-scale enterprise. It has architectural-historical value due to the recognizability of the main structure. By its striking location on the dike in a small industrial area, the farmhouse, also through its historical significance, contributes to the visual integrity of the surroundings.
