Inleiding MUZIEKKOEPEL, vrijstaand gesitueerd in het Noorderplantsoen op een ruim gazon aan de rand van een wandelpad met aan weerszijden groepen rododendrons, gebouwd in 1905 in een van de Vernieuwingsstijlen van rond de eeuwwisseling. Omschrijving Het geheel gepleisterde bouwsel is opgetrokken op een vierkante plattegrond en heeft een zwaar basement, dat zich naar de vloerhoogte toe verjongt. In het pleisterwerk zijn sierrandjes getrokken. Aan de achterzijde is een smalle trap, die toegang verschaft tot het podium. Op de hoeken zijn zware pijlers aangebracht, die gerend toelopen. Het plafond, getimmerd van houten schroten, steekt aan de vier zijden iets naar buiten de structuur en kreeg op die plaatsen afdekkingen. Vlakke daklijsten sluiten de gevels af en een zonwering van houten latwerk, rustend op consoles (aan de publiekzijde schelpvormig, overige zijden recht) accentueren het platte dak. Introduction MUSIC PAVILION, freestanding situated in the Noorderplantsoen on a spacious lawn at the edge of a footpath with groups of rhododendrons on either side, built in 1905 in one of the Renewal Styles of around the turn of the century. Description The entirely plastered structure is erected on a square ground plan and has a heavy basement, which tapers towards floor level. Decorative edges are drawn in the plasterwork. On the rear side is a narrow staircase, which provides access to the platform. Heavy pillars are placed on the corners, which taper in a rendered fashion. The ceiling, constructed of wooden boards, projects slightly beyond the structure on all four sides and received coverings at those places. Flat cornices close off the facades and a sun awning of wooden latticework, resting on consoles (shell-shaped on the public side, straight on the other sides) accentuate the flat roof. Evaluation Music Pavilion, of general importance because of its cultural-historical value and because of the architectural quality of the design, which possesses characteristics of the Renewal Style around 1900.
