Introduction VILLA, type urban half-timbered villa, detached situated on the corner of the eastern gable wall consisting of predominantly detached villa development of the Noorderstationsstraat and the Johan de Wittstraat, built in 1900 on behalf of J.B. The tall building is erected on a rectangular ground plan and comprises two storeys under a gabled roof, covered with concrete tile. Two whitewashed chimneys stand on the ridge. The front gable is three bays wide. The south gable contains an extension of one storey under a three-sided roof slope. Above a trash frame of red brick the gables are whitewashed and enlivened with sill bands of red brick running across the side and rear gables. The windows are closed with a segmental arch with rolling shutters and have fanlights with a wooden glazing bar division and coloured stained glass. The windows are framed by a dentil motif of red brick. The entrance in the southern bay of the front gable consists of a double, worked wooden panel door with hardstone step and wrought-iron door grille. The fanlight also contains coloured stained glass. The upper floor contains in the centre a wooden balcony, which rests on worked wooden corbels. In the top gable a round-arch window is placed. The arch drum contains a framed cartouche with the date 1900. The gables are finished by a wooden gutter with substantial overhang. The gable top is provided with a projecting roof truss structure, which, like the gutters rests on wooden corbels. Internally the original structure, layout and decoration of the ground floor and upper floor has been well preserved. Of importance among other things the hall with tiled floor and green/white tiled wainscoting and glazed draught door with etched glass, wooden panel doors painted in imitation technique, the room en suite on the left with black marble fireplaces and coloured stained glass in the fanlights and the wooden sliding doors between them.
