Inleiding WOONHUIS, gesitueerd in de hoek van twee gevelwanden (Moesstraat en Grachtstraat), gebouwd in 1865, getuige de inkrassingen aan weerszijden van het portiek, in een ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwstijl. Het was een van de eerste bebouwingen aan een noordelijke uitvalsweg buiten de zeventiende-eeuwse vestingwerken. Sinds 1904 was het gebouw als hulppolitiepost ingericht. In 1986 is het gebouw gerestaureerd door de Stichting Stadsherstel en thans is het in gebruik als woonhuis. Omschrijving Karakteristiek, traditioneel vormgegeven gebouw, opgetrokken uit rode baksteen op een rechthoekige plattegrond. Het gebouw telt een souterrain met één bouwlaag onder een met pannen belegd schilddak met een geprofileerde gootlijst. De vijf traveeën brede voorgevel heeft in het midden een in een diep portiek geplaatste toegangsdeur met hardstenen stoep en aan weerszijden zesruits-schuifvensters. In het gevelvlak is het portiek voorzien van een hangend bovenlicht. De vensters zijn afgesloten met licht getoogde rollagen; de souterrainvensters hebben strekken. Boven de ingang een houten dakkapel met wangen. De zuidgevel is in opzet twee raamtraveeën breed. De ramen zijn als in de westgevel gedetailleerd. Tevens is in dit geveldeel een vrij hoog geplaatst raamkozijn met traliewerk aangebracht. Inwendig ondermeer van belang de gang met geornamenteerd stuc plafond. Waardering Woonhuis, gebouwd in 1865, van algemeen belang vanwege zijn cultuurhistorische en architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de eenvoudige maar zorgvuldig gedetailleerde architectonische vormgeving en vanwege zijn gaafheid. Bovendien is het gebouw een belangrijk architectonisch element in de zichtassen Nieuwe Boteringestraat/Moesstraat en het Noorderplantsoen.

Introduction DWELLING HOUSE, situated at the corner of two facades (Moesstraat and Grachtstraat), built in 1865, as evidenced by the incised marks on both sides of the portico, in a craft-traditional building style.
