Inleiding
AARDAPPELBEWAARPLAATS gebouwd even buiten de omheining van het kampterrein en vermoedelijk gebouwd rond 1942 (na de ingebruikneming van het terrein door de Sicherheitspolizei). Naast de aardappelbewaarplaats werd in 1970 het nationaal monument Westerbork (gemaakt door Ralph Prins) onthuld door koningin Juliana.
Omschrijving
Aardappelbewaarplaats bestaande uit een grote in tweeën gedeelde ruimte met systematisch geplaatste gemetselde kolommen (in het vertrek aan de kampzijde 7 x 4 stuks, in het andere vertrek met 7 x 5 stuks) die gemetselde gewelven dragen en waarbij tegen de gemetselde wanden steunberen zijn geplaatst en een aarden bescherm- en isolatiewand is aangebracht. De ruimte is voorzien van ontluchtingspijpen waarvan het bovenste deel in ijzer is uitgevoerd.

Aardappelbewaarplaats van belang als essentieel onderdeel van het complex; voorts van architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de typologie en het materiaalgebruik; zeldzaam.

POTATO STORAGE FACILITY built just outside the perimeter of the camp grounds and presumably built around 1942 (after the grounds were taken into use by the Sicherheitspolizei). Next to the potato storage facility, the national monument Westerbork (made by Ralph Prins) was unveiled by Queen Juliana in 1970.
Description
Potato storage facility consisting of a large space divided in two with systematically placed brick columns (in the room on the camp side 7 x 4 pieces, in the other room with 7 x 5 pieces) which carry brick vaults and against the brick walls buttresses are placed and an earth protective and insulating wall is provided. The space is provided with ventilation pipes of which the upper part is executed in iron.
