Inleiding
Gebouwd in 1939 als DIRECTEURSWONING bij het Vluchtelingenkamp Westerbork en ontworpen onder verantwoordelijkheid van architect L. Bok (directeur Onderhouds- en Uitbreidingswerken bij de Rijksgebouwendienst te s'-Gravenhage). De directeurswoning is het enige bouwwerk van het oorspronkelijke Vluchtelingenkamp. Na de overname door de Duitsers was de woning in gebruik als Commandantswoning.
Omschrijving
Samengesteld bouwvolume in hout opgetrokken met horizontale gerabatte delen en gedekt door een zadeldak, de aanbouwen en erkers zijn voorzien van een plat. De topgevels in wit geschilderde verticaal gelede en gerabatte betimmering; openslaande deuren met roedeverdeling; vensters zonder verdeling en met en zonder bovenlicht.
Waardering
Voormalige directeurswoning van essentieel belang als onderdeel van het complex; voorts van architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de typologie; zeldzaam.

Introduction
Built in 1939 as DIRECTOR'S RESIDENCE at the Westerbork Refugee Camp and designed under the responsibility of architect L. Bok (director of Maintenance and Extension Works at the State Building Service in The Hague). The director's residence is the only structure from the original Refugee Camp. After German takeover the residence was used as Commandant's dwelling.
Description
Composed building volume built in wood with horizontal rabbeted sections and covered by a gabled roof, the annexes and bay windows are provided with flat roofs. The gable ends in white painted vertically articulated and rabbeted weatherboarding; opening doors with glazing bars; windows without glazing division and with and without fanlights.
Valuation
Former director's residence of essential significance as part of the complex; furthermore of architectural-historical significance because of the typology; rare.
