Inleiding
In samenhang met de Remonstrantse kerk naar ontwerp van A. van der Steur jr. in 1886-87 gebouwde KOSTERSWONING met bijbehorende dienstruimten voor de kerk, in sobere neo- Renaissancetrant en door middel van een tussenlid aan de ZW-zijde met de kerk verbonden.
Omschrijving.
Bij de Remonstrantse kerk behorend dienstgebouw, in oorsprong bestemd als kosterswoning op de verdieping en voor kerkelijke nevenruimten op de beganegrond, in baksteen opgetrokken met twee bouwlagen onder pannen schilddak. Het pand heeft in de linkerzijgevel en in de voorgevel zes-ruitsschuifvensters met gesneden stijlen waarboven in siermetselwerk uitgevoerde boogtrommels, omlopende cordonbanden en gekorniste kroonlijst. De twee venster-assen tellende voorgevel aan de Oranjekade heeft rechts een smal zijrisaliet, waarin de gemoderniseerde ingang. De drie venster-assen tellende linkerzijgevel heeft verder een cordonband die doorloopt in die van de kerk. De gecementeerde rechterzijgevel is op drie kleine vensters na, vrijwel blind.
Inwendig ondermeer de kerkeraads-, annex catechisatiekamer met eenvoudige schouw, lambrizering en stucplafond in de westhoek op de beganegrond; aansluitend de predikantenkamer.
Waardering
Kerkelijk dienstgebouw van belang als architectonisch, bouwkundig en historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het afzonderlijk beschermde kerkgebouw van de Remonstrantse Gemeente te Haarlem.

Service building belonging to the Remonstrant Church, originally intended as a sexton's dwelling on the upper floor and for ecclesiastical ancillary spaces on the ground floor, erected in brick with two storeys under tiled hipped roof. The building has in the left side façade and in the front façade six-pane sash windows with carved styles above which arch barrels executed in decorative masonry, continuous band courses and corniced cornice. The front façade facing the Oranjekade, with two window axes, has on the right a narrow side projection, in which the modernised entrance. The left side façade, with three window axes, furthermore has a band course that continues in that of the church. The cemented right side façade is virtually blank except for three small windows.
Internally, among others, the church council chamber and catechism room with simple fireplace, wainscoting and stucco ceiling in the western corner on the ground floor; adjoining the minister's chamber.
