Herenhuis in eclectische trant, gebouwd in het derde kwart van de 19e eeuw. Het pand vormt onderdeel van de reeks aaneengesloten nagenoeg identieke huizen Mauritskade 43 t/m 57, waarvan de buitenste panden aan beide zijden als risalieten zijn opgevat. Omschrijving.
Pand op rechthoekige plattegrond, bestaande uit een lage parterre, beletage, verdieping en lage kapverdieping in het met zink gedekte zadeldak, drie vensterassen breed waarvan de middelste de ingang bevat. De grotendeels ongepleisterde lijstgevel bezit een hardstenen plint. De parterre vertoont een geblokte bepleistering en de zolderverdieping is eveneens bepleisterd. De vensters van de beletage en de verdieping zijn gevat in geprofileerde houten omlijstingen met gedecoreerde kuifstukken en bezitten T-vormige stolpramen. De authentieke vleugeldeur vertoont panelen en sierroosterwerk. De verdiepingen worden gescheiden door geprofileerde waterlijsten. Mansion in eclectic style, built in the third quarter of the 19th century. The building forms part of the series of contiguous nearly identical houses Mauritskade 43 to 57, of which the outer buildings on both sides are designed as risalits. Description.
Building on rectangular plan, consisting of a low ground floor, mezzanine, first floor and low attic storey in the zinc-covered gabled roof, three window bays wide of which the central one contains the entrance. The largely unrendered cornice-topped facade has a freestone plinth. The ground floor shows blocked rendering and the attic storey is likewise rendered. The windows of the mezzanine and first floor are set within profiled wooden surrounds with decorated ornamental stops and possess T-shaped sash windows. The authentic double-leaf door displays panels and decorative grille-work. The storeys are separated by profiled drip mouldings. Between the horizontal windows of the low attic storey are located the decorated volute consoles which carry the wooden cornice provided with modillions.
