Herenhuis in eclectische trant, gebouwd in het derde kwart van de 19e eeuw. Het pand vormt onderdeel van de reeks aaneengesloten nagenoeg identieke huizen Mauritskade 43 t/m 57, waarvan de buitenste panden aan beide zijden als risalieten zijn opgevat. Omschrijving.
Pand op rechthoekige plattegrond, bestaande uit een lage parterre, beletage, verdieping en lage kapverdieping in het met zink gedekte zadeldak, drie vensterassen breed waarvan de linker de ingang bevat. De grotendeels ongepleisterde lijstgevel bezit een hardstenen plint, een geblokt gepleisterde parterre en een gepleisterde zolderverdieping. De flauw getoogde vensters hebben in de beletage en de eerste verdieping geprofileerde houten omlijstingen met kuifbekroningen en T-vormige stolpramen. De verdiepingen worden door geprofileerde waterlijsten gescheiden. De zolderverdieping wordt verlicht door lage, flauw getoogde vensters met draairamen. Building on rectangular plan, consisting of a low ground floor, mezzanine, first floor and low attic storey in the zinc-covered gabled roof, three window bays wide of which the left one contains the entrance. The largely unrendered cornice-topped facade has a freestone plinth, a blocked rendered ground floor and a rendered attic storey. The slightly arched windows have profiled wooden surrounds with coped tops and T-shaped sash windows in the mezzanine and first floor. The storeys are separated by profiled drip mouldings.
