Inleiding.
Herenhuis in eclectische trant, gebouwd in het derde kwart van de negentiende eeuw. Het pand vormt onderdeel van de reeks aaneengesloten nagenoeg identieke huizen Mauritskade 43 t/m 57, waarvan de buitenste panden aan beide zijden als risalieten zijn opgevat. Omschrijving.
Pand op rechthoekige plattegrond, bestaande uit een lage parterre, beletage, verdieping en lage kapverdieping in het met zink gedekte zadeldak, drie vensterassen breed waarvan de middelste de ingang bevat. De parterre vertoont een bekleding met hardsteen; voor het overige is de gevel als schoon-werk uitgevoerd met uitzondering van de zolderverdieping die bepleisterd is. De vensters met hun T-vormige stolpramen bezitten flauw getoogde geprofileerde houten omlijstingen met kuiven van stucwerk. Voor de ramen bevinden zich gietijzeren gedecoreerde raamhekjes. De verdiepingen worden door geprofileerde waterlijsten gescheiden. De zolderverdieping bezit lage, liggende vensters waartussen gedecoreerde voluutconsoles van de met modillons versierde houten kroonlijst zijn geplaatst. Town house in eclectic style, built in the third quarter of the nineteenth century. The property forms part of a series of adjoining almost identical houses Mauritskade 43 to 57, of which the outer properties on both sides are treated as projecting pavilions. Description.
Property on a rectangular plan, consisting of a low ground floor, bel étage, first floor and low attic storey in the zinc-clad gabled roof, three window bays wide of which the central one contains the entrance. The ground floor displays a hardstone facing; otherwise the facade is executed as fair-faced work with the exception of the attic storey which is rendered. The windows with their T-shaped sash windows have slightly arched profiled wooden surrounds with stucco hood moulds. Before the windows are cast-iron decorated window guards. The storeys are separated by profiled drip mouldings. The attic storey has low, horizontal windows between which decorated scroll consoles are placed from the wooden cornice furnished with modillions. The original door has been replaced by a modern one.
