The register's description

Vierbeukige perronoverkapping of treinhal.

Four-aisle platform roof or train hall.

Adjacent to the main building and the platform buildings, a series of four parallel roofs has been installed in two phases along the length of the complex, with the segmental arched roofs alternately spanning approximately 9.5 m and 17.5 m in width and being largely supported by the original cast-iron baluster columns with Composite capitals, both on the platforms and in the track sections. These columns, manufactured by the Hague firm Enthoven & Co, originally also served for rainwater drainage; elsewhere modern columns (falling outside the protection) of profiled steel serve for support. The roofs are composed of iron, partly riveted, partly provided with lattice work, truss arches and beams with tie rods and vaulted, now white-painted, roof surfaces of wood. Along the length are raised light roofs; in the transverse direction on the Delft side a curved cross roof with originally two openwork round lanterns in the middle above the track sections at the height of the centre of platform building B. The roofs have at the ends and at the connecting walls above the main building and the platform building a filling of glass panes, partly provided with horizontal yellow glass strips, in an iron framework. Insofar as affected by the fire of 1989, the roofs are being restored as far as possible in the old form. The roof on the town side, executed in 1891-93, has the same length as the main building directly adjoining it (approximately 96.7 m), while the three other roofs, executed in 1888-89, are longer (approximately 210 m) and are therefore visible from the street.
