Omschrijving
v.m. Rijksstoomgemaal en Uitwateringssluis aan de mond van het Afwateringskanaal 's-Hertogenbosch-Drongelen. Gemaal en sluizencomplex gebouwd in 1896-1898 in het kader van de aanleg van de nieuwe Maasmond (Bergsche Maas). Complex kunstwerken, bestaande uit sluizen met schotbalkenkraantjes, duikers, bruggen, alsmede een stoomgemaal. Het gebouw is in 1944 zwaar beschadigd en nadien herbouwd, waarbij de contour van het totale beeld geen ingrijpende wijziging onderging. De inventaris is geheel oorspronkelijk: stoommachine met een in een horizontaal vlak liggend drijfstangmechanisme en de diep daaronder liggende centrifugaalpomp van het "toltype", alles uit 1898. In de ketelruimte twee vuurgangketels uit 1939. Uniek complex waterstaatkundige werken uit het laatste van de 19e eeuw. De bemalingsinstallatie is enig in haar soort in Nederland en van belang als variant op het gebruikelijke centrifugaalpomptype.

Description
former state steam pump house and drainage sluice at the mouth of the Drainage Canal 's-Hertogenbosch-Drongelen. Pump house and sluice complex built in 1896-1898 in the context of the construction of the new Meuse mouth (Bergsche Maas). Complex of hydraulic structures, consisting of sluices with shutter-batten cranes, culverts, bridges, as well as a steam pump house. The building was heavily damaged in 1944 and subsequently rebuilt, the outline of the overall image undergoing no major changes. The inventory is completely original: steam engine with a connecting rod mechanism lying in a horizontal plane and the deep below lying centrifugal pump of the "toll type", all from 1898. In the boiler room two fire-grate boilers from 1939. Unique complex of hydraulic engineering works from the latter part of the 19th century. The pumping installation is unique of its kind in the Netherlands and of importance as a variant on the usual centrifugal pump type.
