Segment van verdedigingswerk vesting Gorinchem, deel uitmakend van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Het werk bestaat uit een aanleg van aardwerken, gracht en bijbehorende bebouwing en objecten zoals hierna genoemd.
De aanleg is een onderdeel van de oostelijke verdedigingswal van Gorinchem en omvat een bastion (bastion IX) en voorliggende natte gracht.
Op het terreplein van het bastion bevindt zich een bomvrij gemetseld laboratorium.

Segment of fortification work of Gorinchem fortress, forming part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. The work consists of an earthwork installation, moat and associated buildings and objects as named below.
The installation forms part of the eastern defensive wall of Gorinchem and comprises a bastion (bastion IX) and moat in front.
On the terreplein of the bastion there is a bomb-proof brick laboratory.
