Omschrijving
Segment van verdedigingswerk vesting Gorinchem, deel uitmakend van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Het werk bestaat uit een aanleg van aardwerken, gracht en bijbehorende gebouwen en objecten, zoals hierna genoemd.
De aanleg vormt een onderdeel van de oostelijke verdedigingswal van Gorinchem en omvat de courtine tussen bastion IX en bastion X, voorliggende natte gracht en ravelijn met voorliggende ravelijnsgracht.
In de courtine bevindt zich een gemetselde overwelfde poterne met daarin een tot boven de walgang uitstekende gemetselde schacht voor het plaatsen van schotbalken in de sponningen.

Description
Segment of fortification work of Gorinchem fortress, forming part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. The work consists of an earthwork installation, moat and associated buildings and objects as named below.
The installation forms part of the eastern defensive wall of Gorinchem and comprises the curtain between bastion IX and bastion X, moat in front and ravelin with moat in front.
In the curtain there is a brick vaulted postern with within it a brick shaft extending above the wall walk for placing bars in the slot mortises.
