Segment van verdedigingswerk vesting Gorinchem, deel uitmakend van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Het werk bestaat uit een aanleg van aardwerken, gracht en bijbehorende bebouwing en objecten zoals hierna genoemd.
De aanleg is een onderdeel van de zuidoostelijke verdedigingswal van Gorinchem en omvat een bastion (bastion VIII) en natte gracht gelegen voor het bastion.
Op het bastion bevinden zich twee gemetselde, grondgedekte, kruitmagazijnen.

Description
Segment of fortification work of Gorinchem fortress, forming part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. The work consists of an earthwork installation, moat and associated buildings and objects as named below.
The installation forms part of the south-eastern defensive wall of Gorinchem and comprises a bastion (bastion VIII) and wet moat situated in front of the bastion.
On the bastion there are two brick, earth-covered, powder magazines.
