Rijkspostspaarbank, gebouwd 1899-1901 door D.E.C.Knuttel.
Groots opgezet hoekpand met bel-etage en twee verdiepingen onder dwarsgeplaatste zadeldaken, voorzien van balustraden op consoles met obelisken en dakkapellen. Opgetrokken in baksteen, afgewisseld met enkele natuurstenen banden, op natuurstenen rustica-sokkel, in een persoonlijk opgevatte mengvorm van historische bouwstijlen. Gevel aan de Van Baerlestraat bevat risalerende, met natuursteen beklede middenpartij, waarin rondbogige ingang met stoep, en halfrond venster waarboven vergulde inscriptie: Rijkspostspaarbank, topgevel met obelisken; deze middenpartij als ingangspartij wordt bekroond door een afgeplatte tentspits met opengewerkte smeedijzeren hekwerk; accent op de linkerhoek door topgevel met obelisken en tentspits met smeedijzeren bekroning; op de rechterhoek een veelhoekig uitspringende hoekpartij, gedeeltelijk met natuursteen bekleed en voorzien van rondboogfriezen en lisenen, drie topgevels waarin oculi, bekroond door een opengewerkt veelhoekig torentje waarop een windwijzer. Gevel aan de P.Potterstraat heeft accent op de hoek door topgevel met obelisken. Gevel aan de Jan Luykenstraat in zelfde vorm, later uitgebreid in dezelfde, ietwat versoberde trant onder schilddak met dakkapellen.

National Postal Savings Bank, built 1899-1901 by D.E.C. Knuttel.
Grandly conceived corner building with piano nobile and two storeys beneath transversely positioned gabled roofs, furnished with balustrades on consoles with obelisks and roof dormers. Built in brick, interspersed with some ashlar bands, on ashlar rusticated base, in a personal interpretation of a mixed historical architectural style. Facade on Van Baerlestraat contains projecting central section clad in ashlar, with round-arched entrance with front step, and semi-circular window above which gilded inscription: Rijkspostspaarbank, gable with obelisks; this central section as entrance section is crowned by a flattened tent spire with open-worked wrought iron railing; accent on the left corner by gable with obelisks and tent spire with wrought iron crown; on the right corner a polygonal projecting corner section, partially clad in ashlar and provided with round-arched friezes and pilasters, three gables with oculi, crowned by an open-worked polygonal turret with weathervane. Facade on P. Potterstraat has accent on the corner by gable with obelisks. Facade on Jan Luykenstraat in the same form, later extended in the same, somewhat simplified style beneath hipped roof with roof dormers.
Interiorly, wainscoting of tile tableaux with representations of stylised flowers, bees, spiders with web and provincial coats of arms, in Art Nouveau style; cross-vaults and monumental staircases with ashlar columns.
