In de stadsuitleg naar ontwerp van Thomas Romein rond 1870 ontstaan twee bouwlagen tellend blokvormig pand onder afgeknot met platte friese pannen belegd schilddak; wit gepleisterd en van getrokken voegen voorzien; erker; de hoek Willemskade/Sophialaan afgeschuind en bekroond door fries met florale motieven en driehoekig fronton.
Sommige der gevelvelden uitgerust met middenrisaliet, rechtgesloten T-vensters in stuc-omlijsting met entablement; gekorniste kroon-lijst met bewerkt fries; geprofileerde gootlijst. Twee dakkapellen met rond venster, festoenen en kuif.

Description
Arising in the urban development according to the design of Thomas Romein around 1870, a two-storey block-shaped building under a hipped roof laid with flat Frisian tiles; whitewashed and provided with struck joints; oriel; the corner Willemskade/Sophialaan chamfered and crowned by a frieze with floral motifs and triangular pediment.
Some of the facade fields equipped with central projection, straight-shut T-windows in stucco framing with entablature; moulded cornice with worked frieze; moulded gutter. Two dormers with round window, festoons and curl.
In front of the house a cast-iron gate.
