Het noordelijk gedeelte van de stadsgracht, overblijfsel van het door Menno van Coehoorn in 1700 verbeterde vestiging. Enkele resten van de v.m. wal en contrescarp langs de singel (XVIIIa) herinneren aan de vroegere zevenhoekige vesting.

Description
The northern section of the city moat, remnant of the fortification improved by Menno van Coehoorn in 1700. Several remains of the former rampart and counterscarp along the ring canal (first half of the 18th century) recall the former seven-sided fortress.
