Exterior description and setting
A single-storey white painted roughcast school with a half-hipped roof to a central block with plain hipped roofs to lower flanking blocks. Roofs of Bangor blue slates in regular courses, with four gabled dormers to the entrance front of the main block. PVC replacement windows throughout. It stands facing the main road in its own grounds, set back, with a lawn in front of it.
Historical information
Built for Larne Regional Education Committee to the designs of R.I. Smith of the Northern Ireland Office of Works; drawings date from 1930; site plans revised 1931 and 1932.

This is an example of an inter-war rural school whose design came from the Government architect’s office, but whose rural charm has been spoiled by inappropriate alterations.
