The National Monuments Service's description
On the NE edge of a gentle N-facing ridge, in pasture. There are good views with Slievenamon Mountain to the E, the Knockmealdown Mountains visible beyond the hillslope to the S and the Galtee Mountains to the W. A badly spawled and fractured limestone standing stone (0.36m x 0.32m; H 1.5m) rectangular in plan and orientated NW-SE. At some stage in the past a large portion of the stone at the N angle appears to have split away leaving the standing stone with a very irregular profile. There is no visible trace of any other stone in the immediate vicinity. There is a depression around the base of the stone due to cattle erosion.
