Towards the edge of a gentle W-facing slope with a very gradual decline, beyond which is a steeper decline, in undulating terrain, under tillage. Loughlohery tower house (TS082-004----) is visible on top of the hill to the N. The possible site of this church was located by Power (1908, 31), who had discovered it with difficulty 'about 40 perches [c. 200m] to east of Kilmaloge pond ....close to the railway (north side) and bounded on the north by the road running east towards Nicholastown Castle [TS082-043001-]'. It seems likely that the pond Power refers to is that immediately W of the T-junction. According to local information there is a children's burial ground in this area but there is no tradition of a church. The NE corner of the field between the road and the railway line has an unusual field boundary arrangement formed by stone walls, which may incorporate the only remaining portion of an earlier stone building. Most of the E field boundary is rubble-built and has been partially levelled to give free access to fields on either side.
