The National Monuments Service's description

A peatland survey carried out in 2006 by Archaeological Development Services recorded a togher measuring in ‘width 0.75-1.97m, depth 0.11-0.17m, length 25m’(Whitaker 2006, 77). The togher was not dated. Described by Whitaker (2006, 78) as ‘this togher was visible at three sightings that were recorded on the field surface and in the drain face at the northern end of Littleton Bog. It was orientated southeast of TI-LTNO2a-b. This togher was very sparse at its
northwest end but was significantly more substantial at the centre and southeast end, where it was composed of densely laid transverse elements. This variation in composition may be due to the fact that the northwest end of the togher was at a higher level in in the drain face. The roundwoods measured 0.05 to the bog and therefore subject to machine damage. TI-LFP020a, 223574,159258, Width 1.5m, Depth 0.09m. This sighting was located at the northwestern end of this togher. It was exposed on the field surface and was composed of a longitudinally laid roundwood and a transversely laid roundwood. The transverse was in a poor state of preservation and was unstable on the field surface. The longitudinal had been milled but was moderately well preserved where it continued below the field surface. The transverse was located 0.7m to the northeast of the longitudinal. They measured 0.1m and 0.12m in length and 0.04m and 0.09m in diameter, respectively. The peat was composed of poorly humified Sphagnum-rich peat with frequent Eriophorum inclusions’.
